I've got a good friend of mine who has a 825CFM Mighty Demon carb. I'm looking for a Mighty Demon, but I was originally thinking about a 750 due to the mechanical secondaries. He's selling it, and the guy who wants to buy it said "If you can't find anybody to buy it, I'll get it when I come over. I'll be there at Saturday around 2:00." That gives me 4 hours. We tend to swap parts alot, so we never have any problems. I want to be able to tell him my decision before the guy comes over, so he can sell it if I don't want it.

Anyway, he bought it about two weeks ago, and wants to down grade to a Speed Demon with a choke. He's asking $380 for it. I've seen it before, it's very clean, looks new.

My question is, do you think a 825 would be too big for this combo?
-412ci Small block
-12:1 compression
-210cc Heads
-Team G Intake
-3800 Stall 9.5" Converter
-3.73:1 Gears
-Stock weight car

The venturii size between the 750 and 825 is 1.400 vs. 1.425. Other than that, only the idle air bleed is smaller by .003, and that's about it. What do you guys think? Should I stick to a 750, or go with a 825?

Well, with the cubes, stall, gears and compression you've got why not try it? If it's just too big you'll have soft bottom end power that will be hard to tune out. Flat spots, poor response, etc. You could always sell the the thing and get something different if you don't like it. These carbs are currently popular and I doubt it would be hard to ghet rid of.

I have the 825 on my combo, and it seems to work well so far. Ive only really had a chance to go around the block a few times before mytranny and converter gave way, but even pig rich it pulled pretty hard. I say go with it smile.gif

It has bean noted on a couple of ocasions that the Demon's flow more than they state, just be aware of that.

Thrasher, that's a good point.

If I remember right, don't they flow more air than the same venturii size of a Holley? That should lead to a better booster signal I think.

Demons are Wet Flowed so there CFM dry flowed is conciderably more. I believe my neighbor buddy talked to Demon and his 850 annular Mighty Demon actually dry flows around 970cfm.
