Beaux Nov 14th, 08, 5:09 PM Im pretty much glued to history, military history, military, A&E and the normal car channels. I dont watch much else if anything.
Mil and History channels being my fav. Have seen some great episodes - history of the sniper rifle, for instance.
Im addicted to military history, firearms history, etc so I catch all these when they come on. Im at the point now where all of them are repeats and im getting a little frustrated that im not seeing the volume of new shows on these channels that I used to. Still good TV out there but they need to stay on it
MEJ1990TM Nov 14th, 08, 5:16 PM If I am home I will have to watch that. If I don't forget.
Does anyone know what happened to Mail Call? It used to be on frequently but I haven't seen it lately. Maybe I'm just missing it.
1badss396 Nov 14th, 08, 5:54 PM I love watching the History Channel but the wife hates it:D
I dont know what ever happend to mail call? hoohaa:D
Beaux Nov 14th, 08, 6:02 PM Mail call is in short segments now, like between commercials and I think its been moved to the military channel or military history.
Old segments are snipped and played between shows. Some are 10 minutes, some are less.
I havent seen a full show in a long time, perhaps they ran out of material to cover or the material overlapped specials that they run (which I have seen plenty of times)
OR - the tough old man finally went into retirement. :D

R. Lee Ermey retired from the Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant, but was made an Honorary Gunnery Sergeant. He's now hosting "Lock N' Load." OOHRAH!

MEJ1990TM Nov 15th, 08, 3:56 AM I watched the show. I thought it was pretty good. I thought it was kind of simplified though. Probably for the casual audience. Those that are into guns, but not really that into them. Good show all around.
It's nice for them to show how dirty black powder really is. There is no way you can go a day of shooting old single actions and come away with squeeky clean hands like they do in Hollywood movies.
79943 Nov 15th, 08, 9:05 AM i agree with Michael. it was pretty good and would be very informative for the casual audience with a curiosity of guns. something i realized a long time ago was the very slow evolution that the firearm has had over the years. with as much hype as there is over modern weapons in reality since smokless powder came along at the end of the 1800's there just hasn't been any real major break thrus. the reliable blow back type semi auto handguns and the gas operated automatic type weapons came along prior to WWII and since then we have just been using different iterations of those for the most part. yes, there are some experimental firearms out there maybe but they don't seem to be going anywhere yet.
SixActual Nov 15th, 08, 12:33 PM I loved the part on the M-14. :hurray:
A bit heavy, but accurate with great knock down power.
