i need to know if in a 1969 chevelle with a 396 375hp dos the block have to be a 4bolt block i have a 512 block and a 272 block but there both 2 bolts from bilding big block motors for drag raceing under 600hps you dont have to have to have 4bolts but i want it right for a stock 1969 chevelle with a 375hp motor. so what im asking did they make them in 2 and 4 bolt blocks in that year with the 375hp.and i have the 163 manafold is that going to fit under the hood, looks very hi to me to fit under the stock hood. jim

First off the 512 block and the 272 block have different size bores. The 512 is for 427s or 454s. I believe the L78 engines were all 4 bolt blocks.

:waving: Welcome Jim. ^^ I use the 163 intake, as well as the factory open element air cleaner on my '69 with no clearance issues.
