do I need to just remove the bellhousing bolts to separate the TH400 from the motor, and also remove the torque convertor bolts to the flyweel?? I want to separate the tranny fro the notor but they're sitting on the ground...

yes and yes.
but you will have to get it off the floor to remove the converter bolts.
