Is anyone running a big block Performer RPM under a stock '67 SS396 hood? I have heard they will not fit. Wanted to run an RPM with Q-Jet and dropped base air cleaner. If this won't fit how about clearance on a regular big block Performer?

I've heard the preformer would fit but not the air gap. I too would like to know the answer.

I am running a big block 502 with airgap and 850 demon and it fits under my hood of my 1967 chevelle SS you just got to find the right air cleaner to fit. I use one of those deep dish type. Hope this helps.

Performer and Holley 3310 and 3" drop base fit, even with a 1" spacer but was so tight I had to replace the air cleaner wing nut with a regular hex nut to keep the "wings" from rubbing the hood.
