I now know what length of pushrod to get. I also know the diameter I need. But, as far as that, I'm lost. Is a Comp pushrod definately better than a Summit pushrod, for example, or is that just a case where you're paying more for a brand name? Thanks for any tips you guys might have..

What kind of power are you going to make, will it be boosted, yada.

Naturally aspirated...it is going on a Solid lift cam (Lunati 402A3), with SRP pistons and Brodix Race Rite heads...so hopefully a bit more than stock, I don't have any projected numbers myself though. I've been told anywhere from 450-530HP, I'm sure that varies between wheel and flywheel, etc, but I don't really know.

I know I need 3/8 because that's what size my guideplates are, so I guess the main question is is chromemoly better than steel? My cam's lift on the exhaust is .600 but I am running Comp Pro Magnmum full roller rockers..

Whatever pushrod you decide on just make sure it's a one-piece design.
I used to break the tips off the old ball style ones and went to a Manley one-piece 3/8" factory length with a pretty aggresive cam and never had them fail.
I think they were cheaper than the Comps also..

I ran the Trick Flow .080 wall chromoly pushrods available from Summit on my last solid roller SBC. They are one piece design and run about $90. I never had a problem with them and they showed virtually no wear after about 200+ passes
