Im new to Chevvy ID Tags etc as this is my first Chev after owning Fords, can someone please help decode the Identification tag on my 72 Malibu, it reads as follows

ST 72-13637 L 03818 BDY
TR 720 A52 75 75 PNT
03B 800277 140239

Anyone who can give me as much info on my Chevelle would be greatly appreciated

Macca, here is the info.

ST 72-13637=1972 malibu 2 door hardtop
L=assembled in Los Angeles, California
TR 720=Medium Tan interior
A52=Bench seat
75 75 PNT=Red top and bottom paint
03B=Assembly started the 2nd week of March
The remaining numbers are tracking #s

If you show the 5th digit of your VIN, it will show what engine came in your car.

http://www.chevellestuff.com/1972/vin.htm will tell you the engine letters in the VIN. :thumbsup:
