A buddy of mine that lives about 45 minutes from me was driving down the street an saw a car sitting in the back of a yard overgrown. He stopped and knocked on the door wanting to know more. The older (65ish) man walked him out back. He lifted up the tarp and saw a '69 Nova two door post. It's and original 70,XXX mile car in sunflower yellow with black interior. It's an Iron Duke with a three speed on the floor and radio delete. My buddy asked if he wanted to sell it. The guy said "what are you offering?" He bought it for $1500. He brought me over to see it. It needs quarters, but everything else is really solid. It has sat since the late 90's. He's planning on a complete original restoration.

Sunflower Yellow was not a 1969 color...it was a mid-year, late spring color for the 1970 models. Maybe the car was repainted along the way...check the cowl tag for paint/trim info. $1500 is a good price for an original car.

Ryan,

69s used two numbers for the paint. The "S" would be for a dark green
vinyl top. 68s uses double letters.

I just sold a rust-free 79k original mile 71 Nova w/orig. 307/2bbl powerglide, A/C, ps., and power disc brakes. Blue exterior and interior and it still had the full set of dog-dish caps and full rubber floor mat! It had a new 3.42 posi rear new and multi-leafs, other than that it was stock. I already had new chrome front and rear bumpers, front bumper filler and new dash pad. It came with the POP still attached to the New Vehicle Warranty manual with the original owners name on both. It also had the owners manual, consumer info manual, and even 2 small yellow envelopes that had the hardware for attaching the tags still in the bags unopened! I sold it for $6k to the first guy that came to look at it! These cars are only going up in value so I think your buddy got a great deal at $1500!
