i am building a 350 for my 66. how do you guys like the powerglide. will it hold up to a 350. do i need to do anything to it if i keep it. the car is a 66 malibu with 283 and stock powerglide?

don't waste your time installing the PG......at the very least install a th350.. which nowadays is almost a waste of time too ....... jump right into the 21th century an install 200R4 over drive .... its the same size takes the same drive shaft use's the same mounts only hard thing is adjusting the TV cable...... oh did I mention it gets much better gas mileage :D

I have a chance to get a th400 this week for $200 The guy says it is in great shape shifts nice and no chips in pan but am just curious if who likes the powerglides and whos for the th400

The BEST thing you can do to a Potatoglide in a typical street driven car...is to wrap it carefully in a plastic bag and store it at the back of your garage.

68KMENO is exactly right--a TH 350 or 400 is a major improvement; but an automatic overdrive like a 200 4R or a 700 R4 would be even BETTER.

200 4r. I went from a PG to that, and what a difference. You'll have to rig a vacuum switch for the TC lockup.
