Okay all you performance gurus. I could use some recomendations. The engine I am putting together is a 454, and will be bored 60 thou. The pistons I will be using are trw part number 426cp. I have two sets of heads I could use. The first set are 291 rectangular ports but I would prefer to keep them for the 396 they are on now. The other option is a set of 781 heads that came on the 454. What I am looking for is ideas on which cam would work for me with which heads, keeping in mind I would prefer to use the 781's. Street manners do not have to be perfect but should be reasonable, and I would like to stay hydraulic. Thanks

The 291 head is awfull big for a 396. They work well on 454+ motors that are spun to 7000 or so. The 781 will work on the 454 but would definately be better than the 291 on the 396.

Yes Terry, what are you looking for out of the 454?
