Should the 280/288H12 be installed straight up or advanced. Fat fingered the keyboard before I got done graemlins/clonk.gif

Here's the specifics:

454 +.060
10:1 compression
781 heads (pocket port/std valves)
Dual Plane intake
Hooker super comp headers
4 speed
3.70 gears

4000 LB car ('59 El Camino)
Running power brake and Vintage Air AC.

Street/strip performance (more street than strip)

The cam is on order and should arive this week.

Since it was ordered through Lunati, they will grind the cam with 4° advance in it. Therefore, I would install it straight-up. The cores I used to get at UltraDyne had 2° advance on the pin, and I would recommend putting them in 4 advanced, for 6° overall. The 280/288H12 runs VERY good with either 4 or 6 advance, I wouldn't worry about it.
On the average(over 80% of the time), my cams make a FEW(4-6) more horses 6 ahead vrs 4 ahead...
