Does the 68 327 275hp engine come with a thin metal shim under the carb base?
It seems from what I can remember is should so the carb heat crossover will be isolated. I don't see how it could run correct without one. The engine had not run in 20 years..
There was not one when I removed the carb.

If there is a slot across the front of the manifold, it needs a stainless steel shim. Either that or you need to plug the holes at both ends of the slot.

I did some research and found the shim. I could block the passage but I would like to have correct carb heat. The 66-68 were the only ones to use one. NAPA had the part.
