I noticed you mentioned you have used the Pro Topline Torker heads.

Have you also used their Vortec replacement head?
What do you think of them?

I have heard they have the same ports.
Is this true?

I have noticed by looking at different web sites that the Torkers have a different combustion chamber. To me they kinda look like the World S/R Torker chambers.

The combustion chambers on the Vortec replacement head are the Heart shape that seems to be the hot ticket right now.

Of these two heads wich do think will make more torque and HP in mildly ported form on a mild street car with HYD cam and a streetable 218-230 duration?

Haven't seen the new Vortec 906 replacement in person yet but I feel it would make better power just as the GM one will.
I did look at it at PRI but wasn't paying much attention :(
Mu understanding is it is pretty much an "improved copy" of the GM head.
The 167cc port SR type head has the same basic shape as a stock 64/76 cc type gm head. but has nicer ports as cast.
The performance line has the "heart" shaped chambers.
My suggestion is to either buy them bare or at least take any apart you get the "long deal" on from the mail order houses & check everything ;)

Thank's.
I am not going to purchase any assembled heads unless it is from someone such as yourself.

I have heard way too much about "Good Deals".

Why do you suppose Pro Topline chose to make their Vortec S/R head accept Vortec only intake manifolds?

Is that true?

I was told the Torker heads will accept standard or Vortec intakes.

On the 906 Vortecs I would assume it is because the intake port is completely different then the early standard head,,taller & narrower.

The srt's I have used were not drilled for the late 8 bolt vortec intakes
Topline intakes come with the center holes oblonged & 15 deg spacers so thy will fit any pre 96 head & this may be where the confusion comes from??
Or it could be they have changed something I am not aware of ;)
