I need some info because i want to order my cam after x-mas. I have a 68chevelle with a 355 with sportsman II heads, rpm intake, 750hpcarb, 10.1comp,headers, dual exhaust, m-21, nad 4.10 gears.
I use the car to cruise in the summer and i put on about 1500miles a yr. I plan on taking it to the track at least once. I am leaning towards the 401A6LUn solid cam but i want to make sure it will handle pwr brakes. Other wise i was going to go with the 401A3LUN if that would handle the pwr brakes. I want something that will be fun to drive everyday, but would run good at the track. MY car is basiclly a driver. MY main concern is i want to know if either of these cams will handle my pwr brakes, thats why i'm hoping UDHarold could give his advice since he designed the cams.

thanks,
lucky3

Lucky3,

As far as I know, the 401A6LUN works power brakes. An engine like yours should be making 440-450 REAL BHP about 6400, and you can add another 50-60 BHP for some of the liberal West Coast dynos. The 401A6LUN is a racing cam that has been calmed down by means of a wider LSA--It is a wicked 1/4 mile 2-bbl cam in a 355 when it's ground on 106 LSA.
I have had people drive this cam for over 10 years in their cars and I've never heard any complaints about power brakes.
