: Big game tomorrow night!
Part Timer Nov 6th, 08, 8:50 PM My Son is a senior and co captain on the high school football team. He met some of you in the hotel parking lot at Chevellabration last year. Tomorrow night is the sectional championship game against their rival. His team is 11-0 undefeated. In fact for the 4 years he has been in high school they have lost only 1 regular season game. Then to top it off, Early Saturday morning he has to be at Rose Hulman to meet their coaches and learn a little about the college. It is a small engineering school but would be neat if he could play there. Cross your fingers for us that we get past this team tomorrow night. We beat them in the regular season 22-7 on their field. We all know it is hard to beat a team twice in one year.
twotone64 Nov 7th, 08, 12:11 AM Bob,
Tell your sone good luck for me. I coach Varsity Football in central California, we went from a one win season (the year before I coached) to a 5-5 record 3rd in league, to a chance at playoffs and 2nd in league this year. Tomorrow night for us has playoff implications. We have tomorrow and one more week before we start playoffs.
What position does your son play, and what school does he currently attend?
454rock Nov 7th, 08, 10:54 AM Bob, Good luck to your son and his team tonight. My sons high school record was 59-1. That (1) ended Texas high school football's longest winning streak and is still a State Record. Tell your son to enjoy his playing days, because they seem to end too soon. Steve
Part Timer Nov 7th, 08, 3:23 PM I think his Mom and Dad are going to have a harder time when his playing days are over than he will:(. He has been the starting center for the last 2 years.
Thanks,
Bob
chevelledude71 Nov 7th, 08, 5:14 PM Is he going to play ball in College? With that record, I'm sure the team has gotten some scouting attention from Colleges?
Chicken Coupe Nov 7th, 08, 6:31 PM Best of luck!
We're headed out as I write for our last Regular Season game of the year too!
Rock and Roll! :hurray:
Part Timer Nov 8th, 08, 12:11 AM WE WON! 18-16:hurray:. A very close game that involved on onside kick recovered by us, a safety by them, and us eventually running out the colck with a 2 point lead. We trailed until the 4th quarter. A very bad part of the night though. Afriend I went to school with ansd was 47 had a heart attack int he parking lot and died on his way into the game. While the ambulace was tkaing him to the hospital, one of the assistants on our staff had a heart attack on the field and had to wait for the ambulance to get back to take him to the hospital. He is going to be fine. You never know do you. :( I hope you guys can keep both of these guys in your prayers. The one who died was a heck of a mechanic.
Thanks,
BNob
Thats quite the night, tough to enjoy with the 2 heart attacks but congrats.
