I need a pad for a 69SS, black in color. The car did not have one when I got it so I am planning to buy a repro sometime down the road. How well do the reproduction 1969 dash pads fit?

Not sure what they are like now, but from my experience with two of them from different suppliers a couple a years ago, not good.

if you do a search, you'll find that the very last thing that you want to buy is a reproduction dash pad - unless you don't care about fit and looks.

..With the others, just installed what appeared to be a real nice aftermarket one. If it wasnt so much work to remove it Id throw it in the trash .2 days and its lifting all over the place :noway:

I bought 2 from the major suppliers and they were junk! What a hassle sending them back and getting a refund. Found another guy through a friend and the one i got from fit perfect.PM me if you want his number.

Yikes! I bought mine 3 years ago from Ground Up, and the dash pad fit perfectly in my 69, but the repop instrument carrier was another story altogether!.

I am going to have my dash pad recovered, my suppliers say quality is hit or miss.

Yes, the 69 repop carriers are a pain in the A** to install. I dread going into my dash again.

I found it very easy to just remove the entire wire harness for the 69 and then remove the whole dash carrier so you can get to the dash pad. Takes about 1 hour both ways.
