Took the metal covers off the buckets last night and gotta be honest, dont think Ill be able to tackle this without screwing somethign up after looking at it. :noway:
What would be an avg price to look for to have someone remove the old foam and covers and put on the new ones I have? THey are buckets
If the springs have some light surface rust on them are they still Ok to use?
Wonder if I should take the visors to them also?
Headliner seems simple enough for me..

Though I've never done either job, I had my headliner done and while talking to the guy he said that recovering the buckets (if using a kit that's essentially a slip-fit with hogrings, etc.) is easier than the headliner.
Again, I don't know if that's true, but Jeff (70GoldNugget) is a guru that can give you the answers you need.

I had my 67 buckets recovered by the last body shop. Looked good.
Went to put the metal backs on this week and they won't go. The padding, which is new, comes over the top and around the sides too much. Also, the metal back has two prongs that stick out that clip over something on the seat frame to keep the top tight against the seat. That is covered up also. Also, the seat button on the side won't line up just right because of the foam and want to stick at an angle.
I'm gonna have them taken off and recovered. Side plates went on just fine.
You may be able to put them on yourself if you pay close attention to these details.
Best of luck.

 Seat recovers are easier than a headliner IMO. It just involves patience and I would recommend taking pics of EVERYTHING while you remove the old material. It will remind you where all those hogrings go.

oes anyone know where I can get some rattle can for the metal covers on the seats that matches the interior color (red)?
Guessing its a flat paint?
