Doing a resto on a Canadian built 68 chevelle SS that's been in my family since 72 so I want to do it right (or close to it). Can't seem to find info on some finishes: Correct trunk paint, were rear wheel wells painted body color or black (gloss, semi-gloss, satin, matte). Rear end and axles gloss or satin?? Gas tank?? Were firewalls ever painted body color?? I've seen many different choices for these on a number of high end resto's and I want to know which is correct, not just good looking. Is there a good source of info for all/any of these and others and does anybody know a good supplier in Vancouver (or at least someone who'll ship there). Thanks in advance for any help:beers:

Welcome to the site. My inner rear fender wells, rearend, firewall and frame are painted semi gloss black for us cars. I have seen a list on what should be painted and what should be natural metal. Someone should be able help you with that list. Rob (Rubadub) has a lot of info on his site for doing restorations and other helpful information, check it out. You have come to the right site to get help. Here's a post I found on 68 Firewall color.
