Is the whine in my TH400 oK? Took the '70 Elky L34/TH400 out for a cruise this afternoon and with the windows down, heard a transmission whine that I never noticed before. It could be just me getting a little anal but I though that I'd check in and see what my fellow TCers had to say.

As noted, L34 with a 400. Tranny fluid is clean and at the proper level. Stock 3:31 posi rear - fluid is where it should be.

Hope you guys don't think I'm a whiner, but this is bugging me.

Have you changed the filter lately? Sounds like the filter is not making a good seal, and is sucking air.
