davewho1 Nov 4th, 08, 6:11 AM I don't have any personal experience yet, but I hear that this stuff:
http://www.metrommp.com/
is superior to this stuff:
http://www.soffseal.com/
I'm sure there will be some more experienced opinions here soon. :)
I'm gonna go with the Metro Moulded products when I order mine, if I ever get to that point. :boring:
lakerider57 Nov 4th, 08, 11:24 AM I purchased the Metro brand after reading all of the archives.
I installed it on my 68 Chevelle 2 weeks ago and it worked out great - nice stuff.
I purchased it from:

Hope this helps

Dave Birdwell Nov 4th, 08, 5:28 PM Yep, Metro is heads above the Soffseal stuff. Just put it on my 72 all over....fits excellent.
Hot66ss Nov 4th, 08, 7:01 PM X3 on Metro, the soft seal stuff is too firm, had problems with my doors not wanting to shut even after a years time for it to compress. So I replaced it all with Metro, all is well now!
Harold 68 300DLX Nov 5th, 08, 1:14 PM Has anyone used Metro on a sedan? I have a '68 2 door sedan and have yet to get the soff seal to seal off. Thanks
lakerider57 Nov 5th, 08, 3:03 PM Hi Harold 68,
I used the Metro brand on the 68 Chevelle 2 door Sport Coupe which I believe should be very close to a Chevelle 2 door sedan in terms of weatherstripping.
It seals really well - I was quite impressed with how easy the job went. I received the door seals, roof rail seals, and trunk seals from Metro as part of the K68ADHT kit from Dano Enterprises (total cost $159.00).
motor93 Dec 15th, 08, 7:54 PM i ordered all my weatherstriping from n.p.d. & 95% of it was soft seal. no problems yet
Gates72ss Dec 15th, 08, 8:59 PM +1 haven't had any problems with the softseal products yet...I used them in a 69 camaro and a 67 firebird, worked out fine.I have no experience with the metro line either so i cant compare...
Bryan59EC Dec 15th, 08, 10:11 PM I have read posts that had people not getting a good seal in their sedan/ElCamino doors.
It just dawned on me recently that perhaps the door weatherstripping was being installed on the wrong door.
I believe the high point of the seal would be toward the body of the car.
I can see how one would put them on the wrong door---as the high point would seem to "LOOK" right with the high point to window door frame edge.
elka Dec 17th, 08, 7:24 PM I have sofseal, but I haven't put it on yet...
BlueSS454 Dec 18th, 08, 12:37 AM Another vote for Metro
harleythumper Dec 18th, 08, 3:11 AM For the trunk weather seal METRO hands down! I installed the Softseal because it came with the kit. I could not close my trunk. Metro has the hollow air channels that collapse, just like the ones from the factory. I learned the hard way on the difference in fit and finish.
Harold 68 300DLX Jan 4th, 09, 9:33 AM Just finished installing Metro door weather stripping on my 68 2 door sedan and they work great no leaks, alot better than the soft seal that I had installed a few years ago they always leaked. I want to thank lakerider57 for telling me about Dano Enterprises where I got the Metro. Now I need to find a good brand of vent window seals to get those leaks fixed. Does anyone know where I can get good quality ones? Thanks for your help.
