Ok heres what I settled on for my heads:

Lt4 valvesprings+caps
stock retainers
VTO teflon seals
guides cut to .531"

The cam is .480" lift. This should be good right? The springs are good for .525" or so lift, and cutting down the guides for these seals should take care of any interference problems. Comments?

ON ENGINES WE DO FOR THE STREET WE USE 284 ADV.
232 @.050 491 LIFT ON A 108 LOBE SEPARATION SINGLE PATTERN AND HAVE GOOD RESULTS ON THE DYNO.

THE VORTECS SEEM TO REACT BETTER TO DURATION THEN THEY DO LIFT.

THE SPRINGS WE USE WITH THAT COMBO. ARE ISKY 235-D SPRINGS,HAVE USED THEM YEARS WITH NO PROBLEMS graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The LT4 kit will work fine usually to about .500.
We normally use the Z28 spring with the earlier style retainers which also work well.
On some of the vortecs you will need to cut the guide boss all the way to the spring pad for the spring to fit over it. Do not remove the dampner to make the spring fit, cut the guide if neccesary.

I found the Z28 springs for about the same price [$50 for the set] and they are rated to .550" lift, great stuff! smile.gif

How do I go about cutting down the guide, as in what tool[s]do I need? I already have the cutter for the seals coming if thats what you mean, but Im not sure :D

CNC I am assuming that your use of a single pattern cam means that the exhaust is not as bad as people say. Can you give some numbers? It looked alright on the Mexican set I bought but looks don't mean anything.
