Right now I have Flow Master 40 series and they sound good, but I want the exhaust a little bit louder. I would still like to have a quiet ride inside if possible. Would 30 series sound any better?

I have flowmaster 40s and I wish they were quieter. Mine are too loud.

Your not going to get acceptable quiet inside with any HP mufflers.

Re-soundproofing the whole car would help, but thats a pain...

My flowmaster 40's are on a 3 inch exhaust and they're perfect in loudness.

I used generic turbo mufflers on my 11-second tow car and it was nice and quiet inside.

I run hooker comp turbo mufflers, they sound real nice under hard acceleration, nice and mellow at idle, kinda quiet inside also, but sounds mean at 7 grand :D ---67rat

Mine are 40 series Delta flow with 2 and a half inch pipes. With my new cam it will sound a lot better. I plan re-soundproofing the car when I redo the interior. Would there be much of a horse power increase from 40 series to 30 series?

I've also got 40 series delta flows w/ 2 1/2" pipe and an X-pipe. It's pretty mellow sounding until the Rs get up, then it's real raspy. I've heard the raspinessis a function of the x pipe. Also, my tail pipes go all the way out the back. If I had them bent and cut like they are supposed to be, I'd die from exhaust inhalation. Once the trunk pans get fixed, I'll get the exhuast done up correctly. Sometimes I wish I had 30 series mufflers so that my car would have more bark, but when I'm just out cruising, I'm happy with the mellowness.

I forgot to mention I have a H pipe and the exhaust pipes run all of the way out the back.

Louder than 40s?

The H pipe is prolly making them a lil quieter and you could always dump right before the rear

IMO 40s are almost too loud for a normal driver. get too much attention

I've got dual Delta 50's, h pipe and 3" piping all the way to the bumper. The car is loud enough to garner attention, and the interior doesn't resonate your fillings out. I cannot imagine 40's on my Chevelle - had them on a modified 93 5.0 Mustang GT and they resonated so bad it was irritating.
