Very nice car! Don't know a whole lot about electrical however ... If absolute correctness is the issue, I picked up a correct date coded part for my 67 SS covert on ebay (forgot the vender but could look up if needed) and had it rebuilt. Cost a penny or two. If that's not the issue you can go with a rebuilt one for your application at local auto parts cheap and retain your volt reg. or ...I just retrofitted a 3rd gen CS alt. (105 amp) in my 65 SS. The 2nd gen. SI is a better appearance without the volt reg. and OPG offers a retrofit plug kit for about 25 bucks Plug and play. There is a good tech reference "Alternator conversion" by Wes Van on this site and some schooling for me from E Colby about simular querry see "Wanted Electrical Guru's". I hope this helps some. By the way I like the fit of your tires and rims. Gonna put something different on my 67. What are the sizes and back space?

i'm not sure what back space they are....i purchased them used from a guy that had a 66 like mine...but they are 295/50 rear and 215/60 in front....i'm changing out the fronts right now to some 155/80 on a 5 in rim.....i['ll have those on by the end of the week.....i had to order those tires and they take a week to get them in.....i had a hard time finding trim rings to match my front "flat edge" trim rings....i purchased 4 OEM old stock GM ones on EBAY...cost me $235 for the set.....i'm not even sure if i'm going to like the look yet
