I need ways to identify a true L79 I have partial vin stamped on block,retractable seat belt,the good bucket seats car is at the shop so not sure about 5600 tach the antenna is in the front,not the back cowl tag is a 13837 made in kan 4th week of april...so what are the chances mine is one. I'm asking here because I read some posta made in this forum and you guys seem to really know these cars..... thanks for your help...JD

I think you should have an 8 inch balancer, not a 7 inch. You should have a 3/8 inch fuel line, I believe. those things are definite and not likely to have been changed.

If most are all of the original parts are on the engine and by looks alone,
L79 (350hp):

mines most likely not a L79 some ones painted my whole motor so no chrome still not sure why the partial vin. but don't really matter I completely pleased with find... would of been real cool though to find one for what I paid..lol
