: Been A Long Time!!
1966ss427 Oct 31st, 08, 11:55 PM My car is back on the road.
There are some bugs to be worked out though.
The A/C evaporator is leaking into the car. Bummer.
The last thing to check. Now the whole dash has to come out.
Oh Well. A/C isn't needed right now anyway.:)
Here's some pics. I'll be taking some more soon.

Hi Onecrazy66,
I have Hooker Super Comp. Ceramic Coated # 2220-1HKR. They do sit a little low.
The crossmember is a G-Force universal. Nice fit.

madmax66 Nov 4th, 08, 2:44 PM Are those Foose Wheels? They look the same as mine. Your car is awesome, got to love those 66 Convertibles. I have yet to see another 66 SS convertible at all the shows/cruise-ins I have been at this year.

Yes Sir, Legend Chrome. I was hoping to be at the Good Guys show at Lowes, but the car wasn't ready. It has quite a bit of "little" things to be gone over. Next spring I'll be taking it out for lots of rides and some shows. I need to pound the pavement HARD!!!
When I go to shows, I'll be checking in here to meet up with some more Chevelle/Chevy guys.
Your car looks great too!!!
Dominic
R66SS427 Nov 4th, 08, 7:20 PM Te firewall is beautiful. I really want to do that to mine. All those funky factory punch holes look like crap. Great job!!
rick piras Nov 5th, 08, 2:06 PM The whole car is beautifully done! Great interior, engine compartment, top, etc. Really nice workmanship throughout. Please let us know where you got (or made) the center console. That really completes the interior nicely.
Thanks,
Rick

Hey All, Thanks for the kind words.
The console is custom made out of steel by the body shop owner.
It's packed full with all the radio electronics. Good thing it's big!:D
wow nice ride

They are 17x7, 4.25 backspace front 18x9, 5.25 backspace rear.
Front backspace would be better at 4.5
Tires are 205/50ZR17 front and 255/45ZR18
Rear tires will replaced with wider ones after I burn up these up.
72 Custom Elky Nov 5th, 08, 9:32 PM Dominic that is one sweet 66 you have ,absolutely beautiful ,job well done  Love the color combo too :beers:

1966ss427 Nov 6th, 08, 7:34 PM DYNO DISASTER TODAY!!!!!
I knew it wasn't running good, but today was really depressing.
I had it on a chassis dyno and made 2 runs.
199 Horses!!:mad::confused::mad:
The new 750dp Holley is too small and way too lean.
Time for a new carb from Pro Systems Racing Carburetors.
New valve springs are also in order because the NEW ones that are on the motor are not good enough. There was a little valve float.
Needless to say, my engine builder just lost a customer.
Thank God, it didn't blow up.
Oh Well, tomorrow is another day.

steve da wrench Nov 10th, 08, 12:23 AM If the evaporator is leaking water on the floor, then the drain tube is either not hooked up, or its plugged up. You should not have to remove the entire system to fix it, hopefully! Good luck! Oh, BTW, GREAT CAR! :)

That's what I said, but we took it off and it was worse on the second run.:(:mad::o
1966ss427 Dec 26th, 08, 1:09 PM I installed a new Pro Systems built carb. About 830 true cfm.
Changed the plugs to a hotter set and got rid of the "CrossFire" distibutor cap, and whaallla!!
Made almost 400 HP to the rear wheels through a 5 speed Tremec.
That's about 450-475 engine HP according to the dyno man. I'm happy with it.
Boy am I glad this is over!!!

Hi Bob, I will have to do that. Our oldest daughter will be graduating from Baltimore Law this May. She lives near Patterson Park close to The Inner Harbour.
I also have a 66 Nova at a shop just west of Baltimore. Next time I'm up there, I'll give you a shout.
