What is the consensus on oil pans for a 383? standard 4qt pan or something that holds more. I plan to use a standard melling oil pump and not the HV. The car is a cruiser.

if it was mine i would use the standard pan .use a standart pan on my 406 and i drag race it with no oiling problems on my nova i do use a 6 quart pan but thats because of the rear pump desien.use the money some where else unless you are having to buy a pan
