I seem to have only five inches of vacuum at idle. I'm not sure if it's the carb not being set up corectly or the cam (286H)or what. I'm thinking about running a vacuum pump to help with the power brakes. Is anyone doing this? Should I use an electric or mechanical? Can someone suggest one from a vehicle?

I'm running a modified cadillac Air-ride pump to pull a vacuum for my brakes. A small drill and a little bit of JB Weld is all that's needed. It's a little noisy, but when it's running you can't really notice it.

Just about any Caddy with air-ride has them. I got mine for $12 at a u-pull it yard.
