Bowtie-72 Oct 30th, 08, 3:26 PM put a towel on the ground beneath you so when it pops off, you can find it. They also call it a Jesus clip 'cause that's what you say when you lose it. The towel trick works well with a little practice. 1badss396 Oct 30th, 08, 4:00 PM Just so you know this is what the clip removal tool looks like, and you can buy it in the help section at almost all auto parts stores. http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/36/49/6a_1_b.JPG Wheelhop Oct 30th, 08, 5:00 PM I keep finding those clips all over my garage floor after a lengthy restoration was completed this spring! 1badss396 Oct 30th, 08, 7:06 PM I keep finding those clips all over my garage floor after a lengthy restoration was completed this spring! So Jim does that mean the last car to leave your garage all the window cranks are going to fall off when they close the doors:D Chris R Nov 1st, 08, 1:45 AM put a towel on the ground beneath you so when it pops off, you can find it. I sometimes will grab a few when I go to the junkyard, that is if I can get them off...And then find them. SixActual Nov 1st, 08, 12:42 PM I was just about to say the same thing. I sometimes will grab a few when I go to the junkyard, that is if I can get them off...And then find them. A Junkyard? They still are around? Respectfully, John R. oktunes Nov 1st, 08, 12:45 PM a shop rag works better then the tool! when you put the handles back on, put the clip on the handle, then put the handle on the post and smack it witht he palm or your hand. they have packs of these clips in the help section at your local parts store. Chris R Nov 7th, 08, 1:28 AM A Junkyard? They still are around? Respectfully, John R. You mean a Junkyard or a car with roll down windows?:) Xtreme70SS396 Nov 7th, 08, 8:43 AM Just so you know this is what the clip removal tool looks like, and you can buy it in the help section at almost all auto parts stores. http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/36/49/6a_1_b.JPG The rag is a great idea, too -- but my tool looks exactly like a small screwdriver with a slight bend in the tip.... Go in from the side with the loop - grab it, pull it out. Rocky70304 Nov 7th, 08, 12:20 PM Same here, the tool works great, I usually just use a pick with a bend on the end grab it and pull. figbash Nov 11th, 08, 11:43 PM I just grab a piece of welding rod any bend a hook on the end. It takes less time than it does to find the tool. I'll have to try the rag idea, there are always plenty of those laying around. Tom BlueSS454 Nov 13th, 08, 9:36 PM I've always used a small flat screwdriver to pop those clips off. Problem is I always lose them after the fact. |
