: cold weather and performance?????

does driving your car without warming it up properly cause the transmission to slip because mine has been doing that.

does it cause alot of damage if you drive it that way because we in Los Angeles have been going through a deep freeze this winter season and i am pretty sure you all know it takes a long time to warm up those classic cars as it is.

Check the fluid level,,,it shouldnt slip,even when cold and its much colder here in Missouri than out there, I used to live out there. What does a prune picker consider cold??? :D

Yeah, we're a bunch of weather wimps here. It drops below 65º and everybody's crying about how cold it is.

I've never had a problem with the transmission slipping in my 1980 Suburban when it's -35F. It certainly does not shift as firmly, but I haven't had it slip.
