Can anyone tell me what kind of performance I'll get from a cam with these specs.....

Cam is elgin hydraulic.Cam lift .281 int. .296 exh.Valve lift .478 int..503.exh. Lobe ctrs. 108 int. 116exh.Adv.dur.282int. 292 exh.(.050 dur. 204 int. 214 exh.)

It's in a freshly rebuilt BB 402 with 10:1 compression.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

a nicely streetable, good off idle, step above stock. Can use a stock or 2400 converter and will like 3.23 to 3.73 gears with a 28" tire. Nice torque combo.

Cam looks a little small for a 402 to me. Will have some real grunt down low but won't have much top end. If you haven't purchased yet - I would look at something else.

That's just a BB "Performer" cam, and will be small in a bigger motor like yours vs say, a 350 SB, imho..

Please consider going with a good old, CC 268HE cam, I bet you will like it!!

Agree that your cam is just a bit bigger than stock. Stock LS1 have a 500 in a SBC engine. Depends alot on what you want to do with car. If occasional strip go with bigger cam, if just want to rebuild stock go with smaller cam!
