my brakes suck, i think i need a new portioning/metering valve and a new push rod for the master cylinder
ever since i converted the front to power disc the petal has been very close to the floor and the nut is adjusted all the way out.

my question is, how do you install a new push rod? i though it was just part of the booster and that was that.
but like i said the petal is way too low and dosnt feel nearly as good as when i had drums

what pushrod do you have between the booster and master? if you have a master cylinder with a deep hole and a pushrod for a shallow hole, then your pedal will be way low. the deep hole master cylinders are usually used in manual applications, but there are a few power masters that use it.
if you do have that mismatch, then make a new pushrod out of a 3/8" bolt of the proper length by grinding off the head and rounding it off on the bench grinder.

no its definatly a deep one. made that mistake when installing it. got the shalow one & no way that was gonna fit correctly

someone just said get a nut coupler rod extention thing like for a air cleaner. would that be safe & efective enough?

As far as the rod goes OPGI has pics and details.

The lengths are 2 3/8" and 4". Notice the reduced end. The end must be seated in a washer inside your booster.

One of these sites may have what you need.
