Once again looking for answers, Has any one installed hedman Elite # 68198 in chevelle 70-72 big block? Do you need to lift the engine to get them in? Also how is the quality? Any help would be great. My car is a 1972 SS big block auto trans.

I wouldnt think youd have to lift engine to get them in. Id try feeding them thru the bottom, with out the plugs in. A lil tip if ya dont already know, Use big block exhaust manifold dounuts at the the collector on your headers makes a good gasket and no blowouts.

you can also wrap them in paper towels or other cloth material to get them in place without running the cermanic coat (if you have it)

Installed hedmans on my '67. No sweat. The passenger side went in from the bottom as is. The drivers side required removing the oil filter (tho mine is old style cannister) and jacking up the motor. Not hard, just remove the motor mount bolt and the trans mount bolts. I was VERY happy with the fit of my 1 3/4 tubes!
