graemlins/angry.gif I'm not blaming anyone here. Somethings work differantly in differant situations. A couple of people said the were running a RPM air gap intake under a '67 SS hood. Well I went out and bought one. It must be because of my solid motor mounts because my hood insulation is touching the choke on the carb. I bought a brand new hood from NPD and the insulation too. Any one in NC need a new '67 SS hood? It's never been mounted on the car. graemlins/clonk.gif

change your mounts, take 1/2 inch off of um and she'll close right up for you.
your not running a spacer are you?

If his choke horn is touching the hood now, changing mounts will not help him. 1/2" of clearance is basically none at all, and will be a serious restriction on his new motor.

I'm thinking cowl hood too. His there really any more room under a cowl hood or is it just for looks? I've got to sell this one to help buy another one.

If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all......
Gloom, despair and agony on me.
Hee Haw.
I remember this situation well.
Many years ago, I tried to sell my 68 Chevelle SS hood for $50 cause I was making the car into a drag car. No bites at all....so I cut a hole in it and used it! Today, that hod would be worth a mint.
Hope you find a solution.

Yeah, I asked this question awhile back and these were the answers I got.

Unless an SS hod has less clearance then a normal one.
