I was interested in upgrading my ole holley Blue fuel pump to either a Holley Black which is rated @ 140 GPH or the Volumax series rated at 160 GPH.
Has any person ran one of these Volumax Pumps on the street?
Thanks for any input.

The Volumax Electric pumps are not designed or intended for continuous use. Go here (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=3000&prmenbr=361) for more info

I was wondering the same thing the other day. After reading that it appears the 250 is the only one not intended for extended use ? There's a period after the 160 info with no mention of extended use, then it starts talking about the 250 requirements and says not intended for extended use ?
did i read it wrong ?

i have the 160 on my car but haven't finished the car yet, it is for the street, the 250 is not for continuous use

Everett - We have been running the same Volumax (160 gph) pump since 1993. It was a daily driver thru 1998, then saw occasional street use until about 2000 and has been strictly race since then, but it's still working fine. We set it at 8.0 psi at an idle and it is still carrying 7 psi at over 8000 rpm (and never been touched).

Thanks guys for that warm and fuzzy. I went on and picked one up of of ebay for a good price
I am wondering now if I should plumb it using that deadhead holley regular or use the mallory return style?
Any thoughts graemlins/clonk.gif

I don't have experience with those pumps, but I'll bet they last longer with a return style regulator. It eases the pump load... a good idea, especially for street use.
