You definitely need the ECU if you want the injection to work. Sounds like you don't have much experience with this. In your situation I'd do a google search for a complete stand alone harness and controller. It should come with complete install instructions. Once the engine sensors are connected you will only have 3 or 4 connections (at most) to the vehicle wiring. FI is a great improvement over carb BTW.

do i need the 4l60 trans with the swap or can i use my th350?
ive heard that i need a custom cross member, radiator pedals and more?
is just the engine and harness enough?
i just dont want to start something without all the things i need

where do i hook the fuel injectors up to?

I am in the process of swapping in a FI 350 (Vortec 5700) to my car. I don't know what kind of luck you might have at the junkyard for an ecm and harness, but I see them fairly often when I'm at the yard. LT1 computers and harnesses might be a little more difficult to find though. I saw one in a caprice the other weekend though. Also, i see Caddy Fleetwoods in the yards sometimes. Did they have LT1's? Just an idea to keep your price lower.

You dont need anything besides the harness and the ecm to install an Lt1. It'll bolt right inplace of w/e engine it is you have in there now. As for the tranny you dont need to get the 4l60e because then you'll need to a few new parts but the th350 will bolt right up to the lt1 if thats what you want to use.
