Hey guys has anyone done business with Bill Mitchell crate motors i'm looking for alternatives to a zz502 and was wondering if these guys or anybody else would be worth, "from your experiences" calling?

had a 540 in my chevelle for about 1 year. I liked it. I drove it on the street practically every day for about 4-5 months and run it down the 1/4 mile about 60 times. Motor lasted great did not have any problem with it.

And their warranty is great, 2 years.

You could build your own for the price they're selling a crate 540.
I know, got maybe $8800 in mine with some careful shopping.
Plus, you control the quality of every piece that goes into YOUR motor...IMO.

My 540 is still running strong. I run it on the street and on the track. It's been 6.30 in the 1/8th on motor and 9.55 on a small shot of gas in the 1/4. Car weight 3500#

I have the B/M 509/540. I got it last spring/summer and it runs great and gets 10 - 12 mpg on pump gas. Already broke in when you get it with 3 dyno pulls on it... started right up. I heard about the above story after I bought mine and had concerns, but... knock on wood graemlins/clonk.gif **Caution :eek: if you have a 4 speed email me.
