: 2009 HR Power Tour
str8tpiperoar Oct 28th, 08, 4:21 PM Anyone going this year? First time I'm doing the long haul and am really looking forward to it. Not my first choice of destination but oh well. Have my hotels all booked and just have some work to do on the Chevelle and hope that it makes it to Bristol and home.
ftgallant Oct 29th, 08, 7:31 AM I am seriously contemplating hooking up when everybody comes down thru Michigan, and finishing up tour. What are the dates? Does it conflict with Chevelleabration?

SS454MIKE Jan 6th, 09, 10:31 PM A group of us from Ms are going to meet the HRPT folks as they come through Somerset Ky and then drive onto Bristol Tn. We are looking forward to it.
Bowtie70ss Jan 23rd, 09, 5:04 PM A few of us from Tri-state Chevelles are gonna come from at least Dayton to Somerset and maybe a little further. I am thinking of going from Michigan to Bristol. The only bad news is that it starts on the same weekend as CB09.
lucky3 Jan 24th, 09, 11:24 AM I'm looking on doing the madison to racine leg. My question is when they say june 6 madison does that mean there leaving madison for racine or that whole day they'll be in madison. I plan on getting into madison early sat june 6th and was just wondering if i there leaving for racine sat the 6th or they leave for racine sun the 7th.
thanks
str8tpiperoar Jan 25th, 09, 12:16 AM Sat the 6th is all madison. Leave for racine (and stop at Great Lakes Dragway) sunday morning the 7th.
plain 69 Jan 25th, 09, 11:11 AM I might be able to go up to South Bend Indiana. I will be at the Dayton site for sure along with some Chevelle buddies for sure.
Bowtie70ss Apr 19th, 09, 11:11 PM Getting closer. We talked about the power tour today at our club meeting (Tri-state Chevelles). There are at least 6 cars going from Dayton to Somerset. I know at least one person is planning on the long haul. Long haul is not in the cards for me this year. What a shame that Chevelleabration is the weekend before the Power Tour. I know they try and do the first weekend, however, I believe a golden opportunity to grow the show has been missed. I will definitely look at returning for CB10 next year.

dand38s May 3rd, 09, 9:32 AM I will be doing the Long Haul again this year. This will be my fifth Long Haul.
AlsChevelle Jun 1st, 09, 6:47 PM I was going to do the long haul this year but will be doing sat sun then Monday. then heading back home for Dr appointments. I am having a complete knee replacement at the ripe age of 43. I hope I do the whole run next year. How many TC rs are going to be there I would like to meat up with them, or meat for supper at Quaker stake and lube Great place for car guys and gals. You can PM me if you want.
65longroof Jun 1st, 09, 10:49 PM I'm heading to Detroit for the day. Took a break this year after 8 long hauls. They really need to find some new areas to go to...
gary salsman Jun 3rd, 09, 5:07 PM I'll be doing my 2nd long haul with my 67 GTO. It is kind of a bummer having Chevellabration the same weekend.
I guess Chuck checked into moving it to a later date, the park is not available
DET17 Jun 4th, 09, 2:27 PM My first long haul this year, Lord willing. Driving from GA to Champaign IL tomorrow, and then Madison to Bristol for the whole enchilda. Hopefully it is a yabba dabba do good time :-)
Amazing about how premium fuel prices have gone up 30cents right before the PT2009.....you don't think?.....nahhh.

gary salsman Jun 4th, 09, 4:18 PM Last year average price for premium was about $4.15 with the highest I paid $4.22.
I averaged 13 mpg overall, just about 2800 miles, and spent $825 for gas. Worth every penny.

SILVERSS454 Jun 8th, 09, 3:39 PM Guys, I live in Somerset, KY and am part of the Somernites Cruise Team that is helping organize and host this stop on the Power Tour. First, let me say we are VERY excited about being a stop on the tour and we hope you have a great time in Somerset on Thursday, June 11th. We may be a bit tight for parking but, we hope you won't mind. There is a major 6 lane street(US 27) that runs north/south in front of the host site (Center For Rural Development) and it has plenty of stoplights (if you get my meaning). We hope you will cruise your rides alittle before heading out to Bristol. Should be an awesome day and if you have any questions, post them here or pm me and I will try to help you out.
Again, enjoy the HRPT and Welcome to Somerset!
Bowtie70ss Jun 10th, 09, 9:41 PM Went up to Dayton today. I live near Cincinnati and it rained about half way up there. When I was about 10 miles away the clouds parted and it had not even rained up there. Anyhow it was way cool I even saw the family truckster from National Lampoons Family Vacation. We are heading out to Somerset tomorrow morning. I will be in the autumn gold 70 Elcamino with the Foose wheels.
gary salsman Jun 10th, 09, 11:07 PM I'm long hauling this year. It all depends on your attitude. I've seen no rain. A little liquid sunshine once in a while, but that's what separates the men from the boys. Forecast calls for more of the same for the remainder of the trip. remember, the farmers need the moisture

str8tpiperoar Jun 13th, 09, 11:55 PM Just arrived back home. Weather wasn't too bad overall. Altogether, tons of fun other than blowing a trans out on the way to Detroit, had it fixed the next morning and made it to Dayton around 9 (only costed $1700). Hope to go again!
69 Post Sedan Jun 14th, 09, 3:10 PM I have a question. I was at Magnaflow in Madison for the Hot Rod Power Tour. The salesman gave me a code for discount on their exhaust systems. I do not have the expiration date for it. I am trying to purchase some parts through Summit and it needs it. Does anyone have that?
