See my previous post for the history of my relatively minor off-idle bog and the specs on the custom Holley 3310 I ordered:

Well, I kept trying different shooters without really noticeable results. I thought I was just switching between a lean bog and a rich bog and so I hunted down a shooter in the middle. Well, the bog was still there. SO, I figured what the heck - I'll go with as large a shooter as I had - a #40. Technically, you're supposed to use a hollow screw when you go above a 39, but all I had was a 37 and a 40, so I went with the 40. I had tried the 37 before and I thought I had it too rich with that shooter.
As I noted in my previous post, the car would now melt the tires with the new carb, even with the bog. Well, now I don't have any tires left, roasts them into third gear with my very mild 396 - amazing what a difference it makes. WHAT A BLAST!!!! NO BOG ANYMORE!!!!! I'm gonna just leave it the way it is, even though the 40 seems too big and I don't have the hollow screw.
If it ever changes as I make other minor adjustments, at least I've got it running perfect now and can start from here without thinking I'm making it worse. For anyone following the specs on my carb, the only change is going to a #40 shooter.
Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta try to get the grin off my face.... :D
