: Can I get a title for a gov. auction vehicle? You may need the supervisor at the DMV to handle it for you because it is not a normal titling process. I ran into a clerk issue at the DMV when I titled a reposessed vehicle, they did not know how to code it in their system. I purchased a truck from DRMO years ago and they gave all the paperwork needed to register the vehicle. Government vehicles do not have titles but instead I got a type of "Bill Of Sale"... Since you purchased the vehicle from a sheriff's auction they should provide you all the needed paperwork to register the vehicle. Beware of paying back property taxes... Cameano Oct 27th, 08, 2:04 PM I've bought vehicles from government auctions before. One from the local police dept. (one of their old patrol bikes) and one from the US Govt. (Jeep Cherokee from the Army base salvage yard).
