What do you use to clean granite kitchen countertops? I've read they say to use a few drops of a neutral cleaner such as mild liquid dishwashing soap, but not to use products containing abrasives, lemon, vinegar or other acids. Wondering if there is a specific stone cleaning product I can get at Home Depot. Also read it needs to be sealed every couple of years.

You might try the white stuff we use to clean our black glass stovetop with?
Use a little dish washing soap and some of it and polish away.
Other than this, I really don't know? Might use powder Tri-Sodium Phosphate? But wear rubber gloves.

I buy the granite cleaning wipes at Home Depot. They come in a tall round container. They work great. I have heard also that you should seal your granite every year, however I have had mine for 4 years now, and never have done anything to them, other than use the granite wipes. Just don't use Windex or something like that with an ammonia base

Other than wiping it down with soapy water and rinsing, there's not much to cleaning the whole surface. It should be sealed, though. If not, you'll end up cleaning spots out of it way more often than you'll like. Home Depot sells Miracle Sealants Superseal. It's a great porous surface sealer that really works. Here's a video on how to remove the spots. It runs a bit long in the beginning, you can skip forward a couple of minutes if you want.

Simple Green has a specialty cleaner for granite tops that works very well. Do NOT use any products like CLR, or anything with any acidic content. Used one on my slate fireplace surround, and it took out all the oil, and stained it.
