:D

I'm so excited, I could crap myself. I believe this is a "fair" deal, and it's local and only 30 minutes away. it just fell into my lap.

Not a chevelle, but i just couldn't pass it up.

I caught it in the first few hours luckily, as I believe it would have been gone by morning.

Nothing scarier than hitting a buy-it-now after a few beers. :D But I believe it a no-brainer.

She's screaming for some side pipes and Red-lines.

Yup, that's a sharp one for sure! Needed a 427, though for my tastes... ;)

I agree whole heartedly, but i guess for $26,900, the optional, "numbers matching", high winding, 350/350 will have to suffice. :D

It looks like a really nice vette, it should run down the road pretty good with the 350 horse. I wouldn't mind having it myself.

Nice car..I used to own a L46/M21/4.11 geared 69 Corvette...car was a blast to drive. I think you'll enjoy it. Put radial redlines on it though ;)

I believe that 69' was the year you could order a black vette again. I forget what was the last prior year you could get one, 61 or 62?

You could order them in prior years, but 1969 was the Last year you could order Black until 1977.

Congratulations John. Good luck with your vette. I've been thinking about a 67 vette, maybe next year, if I sell a couple of cars.

That seems like a really good deal on a vette but then again I'm no vette expert! I'm with others that it would need a 427 for my tastes.

Have fun keeping that beauty clean. Nothing prettier than a shiny black car with polished chrome but keeping them clean can be a real challenge!

should be a fun car. i have a '70 convert, 3X black. not all correct, but in similar condition. i didn't think coupes were fetching this kind of dough, but i don't watch them closely.
love the sidepipes, wanted to do it to mine even though '69 was the last year they were factory. but i didn't know what to do about the cutouts in the rear? other than glass them in which i didn't want to do. did the factory put a little panel over the notched out areas or ?
yep, a 350/350 is a horse of a motor in that car, it's perfect with about a 3.55 ratio rear.

Looks awesome! Hope you like it and it's everything you expected. That 350 hp 350 is a very nice engine, light weight small block with good power. I'll bet you're back in a Chevelle eventually though.

I also have a 70 and I put hooker chrome headers and sidepipes on it, sounds amazing. There is a different rear filler panel that doesn't have the cutouts. If you just glass them in they will crack and look like ****. Nothing like the sound of sidepipes when you'er cruising at about 60mph and they mellow out.

Put the factory side pipes on it they look better. Plus more importantly your lady will not burn her legs when getting out. It makes them a little upset.
Nice buy, Great looking car, now get that factory shielding back on her.

I've got a bit of detailing to do, but not too bad.

I was struggling with dropping $50K+ on a car.

I was looking for a 427 Vette, but for the price, this will do fine as nice examples of 427 cars reach up over $60K real easy.

This will keep me occupied over the winter detailing the chassis and engine compartment and not break the bank.

It's getting up there for a small block coupe, but I looked at the car today and it is just a super sweet body and paint on a low mile original car.

Side pipes, redlines, louver trim and some detailing and it'll keep me happy for awhile.

I realized with the 70 Chevelle, that I got too hung up on every little detail so much that I didn't have as much fun with the car like I used to have. Not wanting to put miles on it with long cruises, fretting over the car and every little detail.

Time to get back to basics and have some fun and not worry about the "best GM" awards.

Have enough money left over to build a Duece Coupe maybe.

That's a fair price considering what a new one costs these days. I had a Monza Red 70 Sting Ray with 454 for one summer which I re-shot with Diamont Base Clear then sold it. Kind of wished I had kept the ride now. I always found the ground clearance of a Vette just to be too low for the Canadian North and road salt played havoc with the suspension. They can be scary if you have every hydro-planed one in slush - LOL

One thing about Vettes no matter how smooth and straight you block sand the glass in the shop once in the sun the fiberglass warps and repairing the lower glass to frame is extremely tight with all sorts of specifically designed little fasteners; other words, I love the Vette and respect anyone who drives them daily and has the patience to maintain one. The frame and suspension has to be kept clean and sprayed with something like Rust Check.

Have FUN with your new ride.
