I've now proved the car will go pretty good, Sat. night Ran a 10.375 @ 131.54. 60 foot 1.533. Now to get consistant.Using good runs, My 60 ' times vary from 1.533 to 1.634 I'm currently leaving w/ a transbrake @ 3400 RPM w/ 10 lbs. in the 29/10 Hoosiers.6# left bag 13# right bag.Our track is not the best and I've been doing a 3 sec. burnout @ 6000 RPM and then spining the tires in a puddle of VHT before going to the line. I still spin some but launch straight.I don't like using the VHT as it takes time before staging and it adds another varible in the equation. I've tried to launch w/o it and the spin is worse.I'm wondering if lowering my launch RPM would be a good step to attempt to get my 60 foot times consistant? Like I said I"m pretty happy w/ the way the car launches so I'm looking for help w/ my technique rather than car set up ideas.
The 496 is set up like this: 4 bolt billet caps, block filler,
Scat steel crank and H beam rods, Ross 13:1 pistons, Comp CB 323B-R12 Roller cam .782/720 lift 289/289 duration @.05 112 lobe sep., Comp lifters, Manley springs,Crower roller rockers, Old world products cast iron heads, ported & polished, ended up w/ combustion chambers @ 122 C.C. runners are 320 CC. 2 1/8 Lemons headers,Edelbrock Victor , 1050 Dominator , 6al w/ comp 9000 dist. locked out using msd start retard box. Turbo 400 reverse pattern w/ 5000 stall.
GM 12 Bolt 4:56 Spool w/ 29/10 hoosiers. Morrison upper and lower bars. Have top bar in upper hole of bracket off of rear end.Running w/ Morrison shocks that look like they came w/ the rear bar kit.(on the car when purchased) 90/10 Lakewood drag shocks up front w/ Moroso trick springs. Haven't weighed the car yet to get exact weight.
Any suggestions or help will be appreciated.

The first thing I would try is to put the upper control arm in the lowest hole on the no-hop bracket. In my experience, the higher holes make for too violent of hit which hurts consistency.

Do you have the upper to lower control arm triangulation braces...they help too.

Lastly, have you tried leaving off a lower rpm footbrake launch. Maybe 1500-2500 rpm?

I thought the lower holes made it hit harder. So it hits softer on the lower holes, humm I'll try that. I'll also try a lower RPM w/ the trans brake 1st then foot brake it. Thanks for the reply. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Anyone else????
