I have replaced the heads and intake on the engine with new ones, and powder coated the intake (not the mating surface). Ever since then, I have re-done the valve cover gaskets 3 times! I kept suspecting they are leaking. But not down towards the headers, but on the top side, onto the intake. I am attempting to attach some pics. You can see where the blue intake gasket is wet with oil. And the head/exhaust is dry. Am I changing the wrong gaskets chasing this leak?
I am new to the Checy engine, as I have always been a Ford guy in the past. What is the trick to these 4-bolt covers?

Did you use white teflon sealer on the intake bolts? Some of them go right into the lifter gallery. I bet the oil is seeping out the threads of the intake bolts.

yep, me too. I think the 8 inner bolt threads go right into the lifter galley (meaning the front 2 bolts and the rear 2 bolts are not going to leak because the threads end in the head casting. You can also put RTV on the trhreads when you bolt it on.
