Has anyone ever tried using the Moroso trick drag racing springs along with the Competition Engineering Drag shocks on the front end of the Chevelle? I have purchased a set of Moroso trick springs and am considering the CE drag shocks as well. Also, how do the Moroso springs handle during normal in town, street driving, since they clearly state that they "are not intended for street use"?

They(springs-regular shocks though) are on the front of my car,1 coil cut for heigth, they're ok around town, though the headers and crossmember bottom out occaisionally on larger bumps. They get kind of nervous on the highway though, without the front sway bar.Leaving the bar on helps alot driving, but you know that it hurts the launch at the track.I'm not sure how some 90/10 drag shocks would change the street manners though.

I have that set up. The shocks are now on the tightest setting to keep the front end down. When I first installed them, I had a mid 13 second car that would pull the fronts 4" off the ground on the 90/10 setting. The car still pulls the tires but just enough to see some day light. I plan on istalling travel limmiters to cut down on rise also. I cut about .04 off the 60 foot by changing from 90/10 to 50/50 on the shocks. The car is track only now but it was not fun to drive on the street with the trick springs.

I have the CE shocks and Moroso springs on the front of my 67. I'm using the 90/10 setting and get OK 60' times of around 1.60 (best 1.53). The left front comes up about 2" or so.
I drove on the street for quite a while with this setup. Without the front bar the car understeered quit noticeable, making long curves interesting. I never drove it with this setup with the bar on so can't say how that would work.
that's the exact set up i have on my 71. removing the swaybar never helped me one bit at the track so i leave it on. the ride isn't that great when combined with my rear CE drag shocks and SSM bars. i never really lay it into a corner anyway, so i really don't notice any handling probs. drives just like stock except much more firm. i did find that the front drag shocks don't last very long when driing on the street. i'm talking about driving on country roads and such not just putting around town.

The Moroso spring is suitable but the CE shocks are not a real race shock. I ran my car with those for years trying to dampen wheelstands with springs and wheelie? bars, but in the end I ended up spending the $500.00 for Afcos and although they required extensive modification to the control arms they were well worth it.........dont know if this is overkill for what you do though.......

i have ran the moroso trick spring and some cheap 90/10 race shocks up front. no swap bar. lighten front end.......i drove it everywhere even with the 4.56 gears......drove it 200 miles one way to a friends house many times, (got 11 mpg on the highway....lol) ......all i have to say its not a road cutter thats for sure......keep it a straight line and your fine.....front end rise real fast.....highway cruising wasnt bad at all...reminded me of some of the big ol boats grandma and grandpa use to drive...front end just kinda floaty....after some time driving a combo like that you know the do's and dont's ........its really not that bad.......

I run the same setup on the street. Its not bad but like others said...its no corner burner!
