What is a good price for a set of 049 heads ? These are stock heads factory replacement springs,Valves are factory as well . Never been ported . Kinda wondering what they go for ? If they would make a big improvment over my 330865 heads . Which I had done a few yrs ago . Want to bump my compression from 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 ? If they would help and how I would acheive 10 1/2 .
Thanks Guyz

If they need to be redone $100-$150. Not sure how much they would improve your setup because im not familiar with the head casting# U have now ( dont sound like a pass car application from 1965-1977. Do U know the chamber size???? If they are open 119cc+ or semi open 110cc+ U could bump your compression and performance with a set of closed chamber heads used from 1965-1970 on pass cars. The smallest chamber is 1965 and they kept getting slightly bigger up to 70. 1971 and up were open chamber 113cc-120cc. U can go to mortec.com to find out your chamber size by the casting# on the heads. With your relatively mild cam and smaller cylinder bore size the bigger 2.19/1.88 valves wouldnt help out much. If your heads are open chamber find a set of the closed chamber heads and your compression will go up by 1 count. Maybe if U want add some stainless valves and some cleanup work on ports.

I have the 049's.... to get my 10.6 CR I use a dome piston (.215dome) and had the heads milled to give me 115cc chamber. I had the larger valves installed with the machine work, but they flow really well in stock form.
