: Daddy's Little Girl

My 4 year old little girl really makes me laugh. After the last Chevelle show she is determined that she wants an El Camino. That is her favorite car. She is more into cars than her brother. She has a great deal of fun using my creeper and working under the car and puts making tape everywhere. She also calls grease "special dirt." My wife just about kills me when the special dirt is all over her clothes.

My father recently gave me his rolling tool box. After reorganizing half the garage I put it in its new place. She told me that we now have two tool boxes, "One for you and one for me" she said. I told her that that one was a little big for her. I then told her her brother has a yellow tool box but he does not use it much. She started crying and said "I want a tool box." I told her I would get her one, what color do you want. She said "Ummm PINK." So now for Christmas I need to buy her a pink toolbox. She also wants to know when she will be getting her El Camino. Trust me I am looking. Anything for a Daddy's girl.

I have two of those girls just like that, one is 7 and one is also 4. We have a blast together. Everytime I pick up the keys to the car, even if it just to hang them up, my 4 year old gets all excited and says"oh, is it time to do another burnout daddy??"

Mine is just about 2 years old and she just loves to hand me tools... Even if I don't need that tool. She is going to be a gear-head for sure...

let's see.....the market is almost bottomed out, and elky's are usually resonably priced as is, maybe it's time to look for another one, something more suited for the kid. i wish i had the excuse to add another ride to the stable.....you guys kill me, if my kid would have been interested in an elky, i'd been thrilled, but noooooo, i had to put a friggin honda out front. don't get me wrong, great car, but i'm glad she took it with her when she got married....

I think you need to do your Christmas shopping at Sears this year: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00987900000P?vName=Tools

If you are a Craftsman Club member they may even be on sale or may be soon. At the very least I recall seeing something about these in a recent Craftsman flyer I got in the mail.

Enjoy your time with her and intrest in your car,she will be grown up before you know it. When i finally got my 70 last year it was one of the best father daughter trips we had when we trailered "our" car back home. But now at 23,5 power wheels and 7 cars later she is still my little girl, and she still enjoys helping me:yes:

Glad to see we are all getting our kids out there helping. They are our future and the future of our hobby. My 9 year old boy is all gear head. My 6 1/2 year old daughter is all girl but has her gear head side. My 6 month old daughter did not mind the loud cars at the drag strip on Saturday. I would say we are off to a good start.

P.S. Yes, we were protecting her ears.

Guy's I'm having a hard time keeping tears out of my eyes !!! I took my 2 oldest daughters on a 3600 mile drive across Canada 3 years ago ( 17 and 15 yrs old) in a 69 GTO Convertible.......( Calgary to PEI and then Cape Breton ). Not an Elky ,...but they have been in the old Elky a few times,...anyhow best 8 day trip of my life, will remember it forever,,,and am planning another , shorter trip with my youngest daughter , who just turned 15 this year.... Probably only do 2,000 miles , have to figure out where were going to go !! ( getting to old for this !) As gransport has said enjoy and cherish these times as they really do go by so fast,.....both older girls are at University now ,...and the old house isn't quite the same.....

my 3 1/2 year old daughter lovs to help me work on bikes. She usually just sits in achair and asks me questions every 3 seconds but sometimes I let her help me. Recently she installed a set of spark plugs, I started them for her she just tightened them, and she has used my speed wrench to tighten other screws. I even taught her how to turn on the ignition and hit the horn, she loves that. At least I know she likes Harleys, lol. I`m sure she`ll be out there with me working on cars if I ever get another one.

i actually watched a little girl grow up on a harley. one day on the way to work at an intersection, i noticed a new springer, guy had his daughter on the back, i worked at that job for eleven years, and every morning, i saw that same springer at the same intersection, with the same little girl on the back, rain or shine, every a.m. at the same time. in the begining she could barley reach the pegs, but was pretty much grown by the time i quit that job, i still remember that years later, today she would probably be approx. 28 years old......

The toughest part of those little girls growing up and moving away is how quiet the house gets...No more loud stereo, girls giggling and screaming down the hall, no constant phone ringing, sometimes it's almost eerie how quiet it is...it sure takes some getting use to....but mine is just a few days away from delivering us our first grandkids...TWINS....boy, talk about noise...can't wait:yes:
