Hey guys, I wondered if anyone had every bought and installed on of Competition Engineering's, S&W, or Chassisworks custom rear frame kits?

I ask because after getting quotes for $5000 for parts and labor to backhalf my 280z project I am seriously considering other options.

I am looking at the 4-Link setup because the ladder bars are too long for the short little car. Besides, the 4-Link will allow my to adjust for the 'instant center' and better traction. The price will be around $1,200 to my door. My neighbor is a welder by trade and says if the kit is everything it claims, it will be a weekend job for him to cut out the floor, stock rear, and weld the kit in place.

I will be running a 28x14.5x15 Hoosier QT rear slick on a 10" or 12" wide rims.

Any replies are welcomed and thanked in advance.

When I backhalfed my car I used Comp Eng frame rails, Nice looking pieces, but your stuck with where they put the bends and in my case I had to put my front four link brackets down lower than I wanted.

Cars I have backhalfed since I notched the 2x3 rails and made my bends that way, doesnt look nearly as clean as mandrel bent tube does, but everything is where I wanted it.

I myself wouldnt want to get the complete backhalf frame all welded up and delivered unless I already knew for sure how it fit and it was what I wanted.
