djustham Oct 22nd, 08, 7:16 PM Hi, My temp gauge is pegged out to the H as soon as I start the engine up. I believe that it can only be plugged in one way on the back of the gauge. Any ideas as to the problem?? Also check the connections at the sender and gauge, making sure that they are clean and tight. twotone64 Oct 22nd, 08, 9:59 PM The sending unit is a variable ground/resistance. As the temp raises the resistance goes down and becomes a "stronger" ground. Either the signal wire has been shorted to ground (pinched, melted, etc) or the sending unit is bad. Try disocnnecting the signal wire from the back of the gauge. There should be a switched power (to key) and the signal wire. | ||
