I finally found a 12 bolt posi rear for my 67, but not sure if it's over priced for what I am getting. He wants $600. I sure wouldn't want 410 gears, so what other costs would I be looking at?

This is the wording in the ad:

"i have a clean 12 bolt posi rear end from a 69 chevelle.broke a spider gear and it chiped the ring gear. has 410 ring gear."

Sounds like a decent price to me, the housings are typically worth that much. (or more, depending on the condition of the guts)

The 69 rear will be a little wider that the one that came in your 67 though, I believe a 1/2 inch on each side.

If it's a 4 series carrier you will be limited to 3.90 and up gear ratios. You will have to replace at least the broken spider, a gear set and maybe more so might be a little high especially if you farm out the work or it's not an Eaton carrier. Think of it like buying an emty housing with a rebuildable posi......be sure to check the axles at the brg/seal surface. :eek:

For 600.00 id say run fast....dont even stop to tie your shoes.
