I would like to break in a fresh 454 on the dyno. Its running a hyd. flat tappet cam. I would also like to get the hp and torque numbers for the engine while I am there. How long do I need to run the engine with the outer springs only before I can put the inner springs in and do some pulls?
Do I just do the 20 minute 2000rpm break in, then let it cool, put the inners in, change the oil and filter and let her rip?

on my 396 after my 20 minute break in on the complete rebuild..........i checked everthing over and shut the hood and took it out on the highway and hit the 150 hp nitrous shot..........did that a few times and ran it to 7000 rpms with ot nitrous.......engine last 5 years before i changed the combo completely.............

Ask you dyno guy if he has some break in rockers.
Most do for chevys.
If not do the light spring thing for 20 minutes & change em graemlins/thumbsup.gif
